RARE JOE PETRALI PHOTOS……

Posted by Buck Lovell on Wednesday, 25 April 2012 in CLASSICS, CHOPPERS, BOBBERS & BAGGERS 0 Comments

STATE FAIRGROUNDS RICHMOND VIRGINIA MAY 1930

Joe Petrali, Harley-Davidson factory sponsored racer and National Ten Mile Motorcycle Champion (30.50 Peashooters) is slated to defend his title Saturday May 30 at the State Fairground half mile oval. On the line waiting for the starter in the group photo are left to right; Joe Petrali, Harry Peizold, John Gustafson, Howard Ripple, Fred Toscani, and J.W. Young in this historical photos. And NO, the photos were not taken by me, Buck Lovell……Pat Danger thinks I’m that old…but I’m not! Note that Joe is sitting on a different motorccyle in each photo. In the solo photo he is sitting on an OHV 30.50 machine....in the starting line photo the machine Joe is sitting on has two exhaust pipes, but I don't have the expertise to identify it!  On the back of the starting line photo, 1936 is written in pencil...the second photo has no such identifyer.
